Little Ceasars

only 45 minutes drive from perth city to a little place that's only big enough to accomodate a few, but worth while the trip. i'm talking about having the 'Best Pizza In The World' at a place called Mundaring. ppl say, if you haven't been to little ceasars, you've never been to perth. honestly i've never heard of the place during my last trip 2 years back. but yeah its a lovely place, minus the freaking cold weather as that area is way up in the hills supposedly.

that's little ceasar's apple strudle pizza, looks appealing ey? but there was actually more but i forgot to take any of them coz i was busy hanging out with my best friend:

yes, it was 8 degrees mind you

but overall, it was a pretty nice place to be, something different, yo ugotta try the fettucini pizza if you ever get a chance to visit this place

The Recording Process

alright, i remembered mentioning that i'll post up something about the band recording their last 2 songs, so here goes.

So this time we decided to choose JD of Pop Shuvit to produce our songs. It was a decision that clearly helped the band to further venture into our music, a different feel and a different approach to recording our songs this time. The last EP Album was produced fully by the band.

The recording process clearly divides itself to 3 different stages:

  1. Tracking
  2. Mixing
  3. Mastering

sounds simple doesn't it? Tracking is a process where each individual records their instrument/vocals backed up with a recording software such as Cubase or Pro Tools. For our case, we used Cubase. Each instrument can take up to 8 hours to record. I remember that ruben took almost 8 hours to record the guitars for Never There. Here's a picture on the left of Wei Li doing his violin trackings for the song Someday.

The picture on the right shows me doing my vocal trackings. The band decided to write two more songs, Never There and Someday. Never There is a song that depicts of a certain individual that has gone through tough times hoping to rely on people who were supposed to be there for them, but eventually that individual ends up facing his own dilemma. And Someday is a song that i decided to write before i left for Aus, i would not disclose the meaning behind the song, i hope you'll be able to listen to it and see if you can read my thoughts.

Here are more random pictures of the recording session:

the tracking device!

yeah phil was there too

not much pictures really, didn't really have the time to take that many pictures, but i did take a video of wei li doing his string arrangements for Someday:

greetings from down under

wassup! i'm finally here! It was a long flight but well it was well worth it for the nice weather, did i mention that my hands are half the time numb? haha, there's so much to share from my recording sessions till my arrival here in perth. ut i'll be happy to share my happenings with all of you.

for those of you wishing to come to perth, i guess at the current moment the best fare to choose from is Qantas. I was suprised to find that the flight was a real pleasant one, really comfortable and we all each get a personal television attached on the seat in front of us. And you get UNCENCORED movies! how cool is that? hahaha

but at the current moment i miss my family; mom, bro, sis-in-law, little ashlynn, sis and my baby. i love you all very much and grateful for your support to me coming to perth. You are all my firm foundation of support and i'll try my best not to disappoint you all.
